As defined by the VA DBHDS, Group home residential services are congregate residential services providing 24-hour supports, including all needed assistance and skill building activities to individuals in a community-based home and other settings in the community. Group homes typically have eight or fewer residents and are operated by a provider agency licensed by the DBHDS. Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disability (ICF/IID) are not considered group home residential services.
